Adding the newer gas height lift adjustment system modernised the iconic, original Eames Herman Miller EA337 high back office chair for a bit of added comfort. Finished in wonderful grey leather, this designer piece has changed little since first introduced in 1966, except for adding the gas lift height adjustment.

Seeing continuous production, in one form or another, is testament to the design prowess this series has seen. Found in numerous workplaces and home offices alike, there is little that can truly rival the simple yet stylish flare this chair brings, which is only helped by the comfort these chairs are famed to provide.

Individual Characteristics

The leather on these chairs is in an aged, used, condition, there are signs of use on the edges and on the arms which give it an aged character. 

The metal does show signs of its age and may benefit from a good polish, but this is only visual and does not affect the structural integrity of the chair. The gas lift works perfectly, lowering and raising the chair effortlessly.

The label on the underside indicates this chair was produced in 2011 by Herman Miller.

Investment Details

The Eames Herman Miller Aluminium group have always been popular pieces for both collectors and for the average user. As an investment piece, as with many things, the older the better and, whilst newer examples may not command as high a price, being the gas lift version of this chair should help it hold onto its value better.
