A design icon. These classic Knoll Eero Saarinen, original, Tulip dining arm chairs finished in white with lovely red cushions make the perfect dining chairs. A revolutionary design, this wonderful piece did away with the ‘mess of legs’ and utilised the iconic pedestal base instead and changed the dining scene forever. 

Part of a design collection, the chair is one of a few items Saarinen created to change the dining and, to a lesser degree, living room scenes. The effortlessly flowing lines and striking design has helped ensure that this collection has managed to retain a very modern feel and sees them still be widely used by interior designers and design buffs in kind.

Individual Characteristics

The original fiberglass finish of the seat tops have been well used, but is still very much intact. The colour has slightly darkened over time, but there are minimal chips present. The cushions appear to be reconditioned, but are in, we believe, the original fabric.

The bases reflect the use of the top with some small scuffs and marks on them, but they too are still strong and sturdy and the swivel mechanism works perfectly.
The chairs display the original ‘Knoll International’ label.

Original Eero Saarinen and Knoll pieces are highly coveted pieces. Much like with anything, the age, originality and condition help determine the investment value of the chair.
