A very striking design piece, this original Laviani Orbital Floor Lamp for Foscarini is exceptional with its multi-coloured segments making a dazzling design. The first piece constructed for Foscarini with industrial glass, the sleek design adds a great splash of colour and a feeling of wonder when the lights are on.

Designed in 1992, the lamp represented a growing diversity in what Foscarini were beginning to offer as they were developing into a larger company. Keeping with tradition, however, glass had to be included and it has done so with Laviani’s own brilliance and flare providing wonderfully patterned pieces as shades to help create that sense of wonderment whether the lights are on or off.

Individual Characteristics

This piece has been acquired from a private individual who lovingly kept it in the corner of their living room and have only come to move it on due to a change in the space. It does show some signs of its use and there are some very, very small spider-cracks on one or two of the glass pieces around where they fit to the frame; though these are not in any way detrimental to the integrity of them. The frame is in good condition, though one or two of the stems for the glass may be slightly distorted/display signs of being re-straightened; with a steady hand, these can be rectified easily.

The bulbs are included with the light.
