This beautiful bright white original, newer, Eames Herman Miller Arm Shell top looks great on its newer, used, ash RAR base, creating a real statement piece. The fiberglass shell series was re-introduced by Herman Miller in 2013 to re-introduce the classic finish for this iconic chair and this white looks amazing!

Following the chairs being offered in plastic, the return to fiberglass has allowed for the fibrous finish ‘purists’ love. Due to the interest they sparked, Herman Miller offered a good palate of colours which hark back to the original myriad of colours the Eames shells series was offered in.

Individual Characteristics

This newer example has been used and there are some signs of this. The shell colour is consistent but there are some signs of natural wear and tear around the edges.
The logo found on the underside of the shell describes this top as originating from the Herman Miller Factory in Michigan.

Investment Details

The investment value of the shell top series depends upon the age of the shell, the age of the base, the rarity of the shell colour, the factory of origin and, of course, the condition. As a newer example of Eames’s iconic chair, this top is beautiful. The new edition of the Herman Miller top will be a slow investment but should appreciate steadily.
