An original iconic office chair by Eames for Herman Miller. This black leather EA318 Eames Office Chair on adjustable castor base makes the perfect task chair. Perfect for any office environment, this particular chair is the ‘Management’ edition due to its having the adjustable castor base; which still works very well.

The earliest style of the Eames aluminium range began life as both an indoor and outdoor chair. It was soon realized, however, that the design of these chairs make them perfect for the office workspace due to their being comfortable, practical and stylish chairs.

Individual Characteristics

The leather on these chairs is in an aged, used, condition, there are signs of use on the edges and on the arms which give it an aged character. The one does display a minor cut in the back of the seat section which is accounted for in the price.

The metal does show signs of its age and may benefit from a good polish, but this is only visual and does not affect the structural integrity of the chair.

The label on the underside indicates this chair was produced in 1981 by Herman Miller.

Investment Details

The Eames Herman Miller Aluminium group have always been popular pieces for both collectors and for the average user. As an investment piece, as with many things, the older the better but as well used and good used pieces, these may be a little aged, but they should still prove to be reasonable investment pieces.
