This is the premium, original, Eames Herman Miller Lounge Chair and Ottoman finished in lovely cream leather and santos wood creates a wonderful combination. The stark contrast of the rich cream on the sublime red, orange and brown striped wood is striking and makes this a particularly handsome set to own!
Santos Palysander was the final replacement for the, sadly now endangered, rosewood with which these beautiful lounge chair sets were finished. The gap between rosewood being dropped and palysander being used was a good twenty years, but once Herman Miller found it, they knew they had something that looked like it should.
Individual Characteristics
The chair set is a newer used example, an ex-display one used in one of Herman Miller’s showrooms. As such, the condition is great with only some small signs of use present. Though it is cream, the leather is clean – though a quick go over is always advised – and the gorgeous wood is in great condition too.
The sticker on the underside of the chair indicates this is a newer example of the Herman Miller and Eames Lounge Chair.
Investment Value
Eames Lounge Chairs have always been highly desired. A chair that successfully combines comfort, style and class, it is easy to understand how they have seen almost constant production. Newer versions command a reasonable price, but should manage to retain it due to their popularity.
