The classic office chair. This original Eames for Herman Miller EA335 ribbed office chair is finished in tantalizing tan leather on its shiny aluminium base! The Eames Aluminium range has been a constant since they were first introduced in 1958. Their transition into the workspace was a natural step after they were initially marketed, with limited success, as outdoor chairs. Since this point, they have been a staple in many professional and domestic spheres. 

Individual Characteristics

The wonderful leather is in a good, gently used, condition. The troublesome areas on these are the corners (as people regularly bang them into desks and walls), but this version does not suffer too badly from this.

The aluminium frame has been equally well kept. Some slight signs of use on the arms and on the legs are present, but they only add character to the chair.

The chair has lost its label on the underside, but the remains of it would suggest it is a late 80s/early 90s example produced by Herman Miller.
