A set of 6 vintage, original, Herman Miller Eames Elephant Grey dining side shells look great on their used walnut DSW dowel bases make great designer chairs! The gentle aging process to the chairs have created a truly unique finish which makes them particularly characterful and are just waiting to adorn your home!
The wonderful neutral tone of the shell has helped to ensure its popularity since its introduction in 1949 with the arm shells. Individual Characteristics
The chairs are in very good condition for their age. There are no chips or cracks and the gentle aging has left a wonderful marbling affect to the shells.
The patent label on the underside of the shells – these are from a set of 6 so each shell may differ slightly in respects to how much of this is left – dates the shells as being from 1956-1959.

The investment value of these beautiful chairs depends on many factors: the age and condition of the shell, the rarity of its colour, the age of the base and where the shell was produced. Whilst all of the shell chairs are viable investments, these pieces rate higher due to their colour – harking back to the original shells produced.
