This is an original vintage orange Eames side shell chair for Herman Miller which looks amazing on its used, newer DSW dowel base finished in light maple wood. This classic colour was one of the original colours offered with the arm shell and became a mainstay from there.

The myriad array of colours the Eames fiberglass shell series was offered in helped propel them in finding their fame. The versatility of the chairs was seen not only in their interchangeable bases but also in the way their colour palate meant they worked in either home or professional spaces seamlessly. 

Individual Characteristics

In great vintage condition, small signs of use around the edge, as expected with age, but the colour is still very vibrant with only some very minor fading and there are no cracks or dents.

The ‘C’ with the 3 pointed star logo indicates this shell was produced at Herman Miller’s Cincinnati factory.
