Original Vintage 1954 Waverly Products Ray Eames 'Sea Things' Serving Tray - Blue & Gold
Product Description
This original, rare vintage serving tray features the pattern design called sea things, created by Ray Eames. These very rare, hard to find original pieces are even seldom known within collectors circles.
During the 1950's Waverly products had a whole range of plastic and Bakelite products for the home, all with a variety of designs to suit all tastes. It must have been a real coup for them to add the sea things design by Ray Eames to their portfolio at the height of their popularity.
The serving trays featuring the designs of Ray Eames were available in either square or rectangular and in either black and white or blue and gold. The designs were not in production for any long degree and only, therefore, limited numbers were made.
Individual Characteristics
Being transfer printing on Zenaloy plastic, it was often the case for the clarity of the pattern to be faded, especially if used regularly. It does present a chip on the side, and further images are recommended upon request.
Overall, It still maintains a beautiful vibrancy of gold pattern on a blue background.
Investment Details
The Ray Eames serving trays are very rare to find and usually command a very high price- as this is slightly damaged, we are offering a very good price for a limited edition piece designed by Ray Eames.
